In January of 1900, a group of pharmacists, medical representatives, and those in the allied pharmacy industry decided to get together once a month for dinner, a drink, and good fellowship.  Thus began the present Wedgwood Club.

Let's reflect a little on what has happened since 1900.  Mankind has endured many wars with more sophisticated weaponry aimed at maiming; science has discovered many drugs and vaccines to heal and enhance the quality of life.  Transportation has advanced from the horse and buggy to a trip to the moon.  Communication has gone from the telegraph to the telephone, television, computer, and wireless phones.  New words abound in our vocabulary: "root canal", "plea bargain", "high tech", "managed care", "third party", "gate-keeper", and "dot-com."

However, some things have not changed.  Politics still abound with scoundrels, lawmakers still pass laws which offend us;  there are not many new jokes told at meetings.  But, through all this, Wedgwood Club remains the same for us who are here to carry on;  we still get together once a month on Thursdays socially, for dinner, a drink, a vintage joke or two, and enjoy good fellowship and camaraderie.  And remember we've been doing this for 100 years, so far.  Amen
